AFCON QUALIFIER: Eagles fly to J’bourg aboard Chartered plane

Nigeria’s soccer authorities have secured a chartered plane to convey the Super Eagles to South Africa for its 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana on November 17 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The team which is expected to regroup for the crucial match from November 12 in Asaba is will fly four days later.

Providing chartered flights for the team for its away matches has become the practice of the Nigeria Football Federation to ensure its comfort.

Immediately after the match, the Eagles are expected back in the Country for its international friendly against the Cranes of Uganda on November 20 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Nigeria leads Group E with nine from four matches and are followed by South Africa with eight points while Libya is third with four points and Seychelles fourth with a point. The winner of the encounter will qualify for next year’s tournament regardless of the last match.

Meanwhile South Africa is expected to announce its squad for the match on November 5 according to the nation’s football governing body. South Africa are still basking in last year’s 2-0 victory against Nigeria in Uyo, which they are looking forward to repeat before their home fans.
