Africa Games: Unstoppable Falconets hit Uganda 2-0 qualify for final

Defending Champions Falconets continued their harvest of goodies a the ongoing Africa Games in Ghana Monday, handing their Ugandan counterparts 2-0 defeat at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The Ugandan ladies put up a good fight stretching the search for goals up to the 73rd minute, before the music changed when substitute  Okah Adaobi like a strike force who has been briefed on what to do, broke  the deadlock just moments after coming on to replace Shobowale in the 74th minute.

 Ten minutes later falconets came inches away from doubling but ruled off side. But Falconets were not done yet and were not ready to settle for a lone goal affair.

Substitute Chiamaka Okwuchukwu doubled the lead for the Falconets in the 89th minute, thus firing the game out of the reach of the Ugandan ladies.

As it stands the Falconets have scored eight goals conceding none, two goals against Morocco, four goals against Senegal and two against Uganda.

Falconets will now await the winner of the clash between hosts Ghana and Senegal for the final showdown. The loser in the Ghana Senegal match will face Uganda for the Bronze medal.

Meanwhile in the men’s category Uganda will take on Congo in the first semifinal clash today while hosts Ghana will slug it out with Senegal in the second semifinal.
