African Games 2023:  Danjuma confidence ahead final showdown with Ghana

Falconets head coach Chris Danjuma is not only happy with the performance of his girls so far at the ongoing Africa Games in Ghana, but optimistic the girls can defend their title.

Falconets have been very impressive so far showcasing all the qualities of defending champions with commanding performances against Morocco, Senegal and Uganda, and will now face hosts Ghana in the final showdown on Thursday night. Reaching the final according to Danjuma is an opportunity to reclaim the title and the girls are ready to make the nation proud he submitted.

“It is an opportunity to retain our gold medal from the last edition in Morocco and we will do everything to win and make Nigerians happy.

“In as much as we are not thinking about revenge, we know that we have unfinished business with Ghana. Our primary objective is to retain our gold medal in the African Games and by doing that, we would have sorted out the unfinished business” he enthused.

Hosts Ghana clinched a spot in the final after defeating Senegal 3-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Tuesday to set up a showdown against defending champions Nigeria.

Flaconets coach Chris Danjuma optimistic ahead Thursday’s clash.

The final promises to be full of fireworks as both teams now have eyes set on Gold. Every soccer encounter between Nigeria and Ghana is considered a big deal and this will not be an exception. Recall that the Black Stars of Ghana stopped the Super Eagles from heading to the last World Cup in Qatar after winning the two legged play-off Kumasi and Abuja respectively.
