Afrobasket: D’Tigress Sack Senegalese Coach
By losing to Nigeria’s D’Tigress at the just-concluded Afrobasket event, the Senegalese women’s national team has asked their coach, Moustapha Gaye to resign.
Despite showing promises earlier in the game, Senegal in the final match of 2023 FIFA Women’s Afrobasket succumbed to the inspiring display of the Nigeria side losing 84-74 at the BK Arena on Saturday.

The defeat made it the four consecutive times D’Tigress won the title equalling the feat that have been achieved by the Senegal women’s basketball national team after the Saturday loss.
The coach announced his resignation at the post-match conference organised after the game.
” It’s my last game with the women’s team, I have decided before the competition.
There will be an appointment of another coach in the coming months to prepare for the 2025 Women’s Afrobasketball championship.
