Aftermath of Ronaldo joining EPL’s 100 Club: Looking back at 5 of his best goals

Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Premier League’s 100-goal club cementing his place as one of the greatest football players of all time. His 100th Premier League strike came against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium after sneaking between two Gunners defenders to score from Matic’s cross. He is the 33rd player to record 100-plus goals in the EPL since it was rebranded in 1992. Ronaldo is undoubtedly a favorite for EPL betting fans as he is likely to score in every match. As a sports enthusiast, you should take a look at sites with a variety of different sports to bet on, which allow you to wager on prominent sports events. Nonetheless, Ronaldo remains a determining factor whenever you make your betting decisions.

So, what are five of the best goals Ronaldo has scored in the EPL?

5. Clever Backheel against Aston Villa

In this match played on 29th March 2008, Ronaldo was the star man again as the Red Devils stunned Aston Villa 4-0 to go six points clear at the top of the table. Ronaldo’s strike came in the 17th minute thanks to his quick reaction in a crowded Villa box to send a mischievous flick through his legs into the back of Villa’s net.

4. His First Manchester United Goal against Portsmouth

Ronaldo scored his first United goal on 1st November 2003 at Old Trafford in a 3-0 win against Portsmouth. The goal came courtesy of a quick free-kick the Portuguese took, catching Pompey goalie Shaka Hislop out at his near post. The keeper got his hand on the ball, but it was not enough to stop the ball from hitting the net.

3. Scintillating Free Kick against Portsmouth

Ronaldo was at it again against Portsmouth on 30th January 2008. In the match, CR7 scored what is undoubtedly the best of the three free-kicks he has scored against Portsmouth. The goal came as part of a three-minute onslaught that saw him score two goals in the 2-0 victory. Ronaldo scored the opening goal in the 10th minute and followed it with a 13th minute powerfully swerving free-kick that left David James motionless and flummoxed!

2. Under The Wall Free Kick Vs. Newcastle United

While Ronaldo scored several hat tricks when he joined Real Madrid, this was the only one he scored for the Red Devils in his first stint at Old Trafford. The match was played on 12th January 2008 against a manager-less Newcastle United. In the first half, the Red Devils were held to a goalless draw, but Ronaldo broke the deadlock moments after the restart. His goal came in the form of a daisy-cutter free-kick five minutes into the second half. He scored two more in a 6-0 thrashing of 10-man New Castle United.

1. Last Minute Goal against Fulham at Craven Cottage

Fulham had outplayed the table-topping Manchester United in this match played at Craven Cottage on 24th February 2007. The game appeared to be headed towards a 1-all draw. However, Ronaldo had other ideas! In the 88th minute, Ronaldo produced a moment of individual brilliance to settle the game for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese took possession of the ball wide on the left flank and scampered into the edge of the box before unleashing a low shot that clipped off the boot of Phillipe Christanval as it headed towards the back of the net. The win put United in a comfortable position as they went on to win the 2006/07 title.
