Ahlan Cup 2019 – A tough group I must say – Abubakar Rabiu Tata

 

Jigawa Golden Stars will will face Nasarawa United,Katsina United, Lobi Stars and Abia Warriors in the group stage of 2019 Ahlan Cup which kicks off in Kano

The Dutse based team will go into the group stage of the preseason tournament as one of the underdogs as the group consists of Nigeria Professional Football League elite club sides.

Club coach, Abubakar Rabiu Tata disclosed that the team is prepared for the group stage. “This group will be a tough test for us”

“We’ve dusted ourselves down and we must show we’ve got a bit of pride about us,”

“We’re the giant killers” – there’s always a storm, so we’ve just got to keep riding the storm if possible and get on with it, we know this group will be very tough”, he concluded.

As it was in 2018, each group’s top two teams will progress to the quarterfinals.

The tournament will take place in the city of Kano, with games being played at the Sani Abacha Stadium and Kano Pillars Stadium.

Meanwhile, defending champions Kano Pillars will lock horns with Plateau United, as the third edition of the Ahlan Cup kicks-off on Sunday 6th October in Kano.

The game will be played at the Main Bowl of the Sani Abacha Stadium.
