Amusan battle ready for Women’s 100mh final spot

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan is gearing up to secure one of the two spots in Heat 2 to advance to the final of the women’s 1100m hurdles.

She emerged the fastest across the line in Heat 5 during the race on Tuesday, earning herself a spot in the semi-finals.

While her time of 12.48 seconds secured her first place in her heat, it is the third fastest overall among the field of 24
athletes competing in the semi-finals.

The fastest time in the competition so far was achieved by America’s Kendra Harrison in Heat 3, crossing the finish line in a swift 12.24 seconds.

Harrison was closely followed by Devynne Charlton from the Bahamas, who finished with a time of 12.44 seconds.

Also joining Amusan in tonight’s semi-finals is Celeste Mucci from Australia, who finished in fourth place with a time of 12.90 seconds in Heat 4.

Hungary’s Luca Kozak, who recorded a season’s best time of 12.71 seconds, secured a fourth-place finish in Heat 2 also is on the list.

The stage is set for an exhilarating semi-final showdown as these talented athletes compete for a chance to qualify for the final in the women’s 1100m hurdles event.
