Arsenal are frantically trying to tie down Bukayo Saka down to a new contract at The Emirates, according to a report.

Saka cites poor communication as Emery’s problem

The Gunners’ director of football operations Huss Fahmy is heading up the talks aimed at signing the talented teenager to a new five-year deal, claims David Ornstein in The Athletic.

The Daily Mail claimed last week that Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Man Utd were interested in Saka, and Arsenal are desperate to get the 18-year-old on board for the long term.

Saka, playing wide on the left, was impressive again on Sunday in Arsenal’s 4-0 demolition of Newcastle, grabbing two assists and he could be a wildcard pick for Gareth Southgate at Euro 2020 if his form continues.

The London-born starlet, who has represented England at U16 to U19, has just 18 months left on his current contract worth around £3,000-a-week. He can expect a healthy increase on his existing money having enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough into the first team this season.

It’s understood the club are confident of getting Saka to sign on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are interested in signing former Manchester United defender Daley Blind from Ajax.

The Dutch club are preparing to offload more of their talent this summer after they were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage in December.
