Arteta hopes Aubameyang will ‘be more optimistic in future’

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, hopes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang received a confidence boost after scoring against Southampton on Wednesday.

It was the Gabon international’s first goal in six Premier League matches.

“Aubameyang needed that confidence boost,” Arteta said.

“He is very critical with himself, hopefully he can move and be more optimistic in the future.”

The 1-1 draw with Saints leaves Arsenal in 15th after thirteen games in the season.
