Atletico Madrid reject advances for Cavani

Atletico Madrid have been rebuffed in their latest advances for Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea target Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Italy.

The Uruguayan goal-getter is on the radar of a number of Europe’s top clubs, with his contract at PSG due to expire in June.

Diego Simeone’s side have appeared the closest to signing the 33-year-old, but the Parisians are yet to budge on their asking price.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Atletico are willing to part with around £8.5million to bag Cavani this month.

But stubborn PSG chiefs are holding out for around £25million, leaving negotiations at a stalemate.

And this halt in movement from Spain could open the door for a number of desperate Premier League sides looking to move for the floppy-haired goal-getter.

Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Frank Lampard have all made their desire for a new forward apparent, and could look to push for Cavani towards the end of this
month.
