Kepa’s friends and family reportedly believe the Spain star is “suffering quite badly” from the “recent” break-up with his glamorous girlfriend of nine years, Andrea Perez.
SunSport reported earlier today the world’s most expensive No1 was “shocked” to be dropped by Blues’ boss Frank Lampard – but is “determined” to win back his place ahead of this summer’s Euro 2020.
Now respected Spanish daily El Mundo claim the 25-year-old personal life is one reason for his dip in form.
He did post a holiday shot from a tropical beach last summer – but of himself sitting alone.
El Mundo say: “Those close to him are clear about one of the main reasons for his drop in form, his recent split with his long-term girlfriend.”
They add: “His partner went with him to London when he left his former club Athletic Bilbao and had been his rock until the relation ended.
“His parents, who still live in the Basque town of Ondarroa, try to spend time with him but emotionally he’s pretty low at the moment.”
Andrea, who was 25 when Kepa signed for Chelsea, reportedly closed her Instagram account after sparking rumours he was heading for Real Madrid rather than London.
And on the pitch this season, he has rarely looked at his sharpest.
Stats for January outed Kepa as the least successful stopper in the Premier League when it comes to his overall save percentage.
In fact, he let in 32 goals in just 24 Prem matches this term, persuading Lampard to omit him for Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Leicester.
Kepa and Perez were famed on Instagram for exotic snaps of their travels, including in their swimwear on exclusive beaches.

But the last time £71million Kepa uploaded a photo of the couple together was the month before he joined Chelsea in August 2018.
