Bala: Aiteo Cup final will affect Tornadoes CAF Confederation preparations

Niger Tornadoes head coach, Abubakar Bala has described as unfortunate the decision to postpone the initial date billed for the Aiteo Cup final against Kano Pillars.

Bala noted that the postponement has now affected his wards preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
Tornadoes will host Santoba FC of Guinea in the preliminary round of the Africa’s second tier club competition in the weekend of August 9-11 but are yet to hit close camping ahead of the first leg duel.
The Aiteo Cup final was initially fixed for July 24 before the Athletics Championship held in the same Ahmadu Bello Stadium forced it to be moved to July 28.
Bala told SportingLife that his preparations for the continental tie have been hampered because of the Aiteo Cup postponement but that he is looking at ways to remedy the situation.
“It is unfortunate that we couldn’t we couldn’t stick to the initial July 24 which could have afforded us more days to prepare,” Bala told SportingLife.ng.
“We will need to return to Minna immediately on Monday after the Aiteo Cup final to commence the final preparations for the tie with the Guineans. We are going to host them first and so we need to be ready for an opponents we do not know too much about.
“We need to learn to do things the right way here also. We are working harder to ensure that we give a good representation on the continent. We already have a purview of the players that we want for the CAF Confederation Cup tie.”
