Balogun to start against DR Congo–Rohr

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Eagles central defender Leon Balogun will start against visiting Democratic Republic of Congo in the friendly match slated for Port Harcourt next Monday.

Rohr said Balogun needs the game to put him in shape for the 2018 World Cup starting next month in Russia.

“Players like Balogun who need competition have to play.

The Franco-German football tactician also ruled out recuperating Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from the match.

Wilfred and the other players who were injured will have individual preparations”, Rohr disclosed to Sportinglife.ng.

The Eagles Coach expects a full house in Port Harcourt today after some of the players were involved with their clubs at the weekend.
