Barca gets Koeman’s go-ahead to terminate Suarez’s contract

Barcelona has received the backing of new manager, Ronald Koeman to terminate the contract of Luis Suarez despite having a year left.

The Uruguayan striker who earns £290,000-per-week and is the club’s third all time scorer with 198 goals
alongside 109 assists in just 283 games since leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2014.

And, according to RAC1, he has been told by Koeman following a phone call on Monday that he won’t be part of his plans next season.

Suarez is currently on holiday but was informed of the decision in a ‘brief conversation’ between the two.

His contract, worth £290,000 per week in wages, doesn’t expire until June 30, 2021, and there is an option on that to extend it by another year.

However, RAC1 says the next step is for Suarez’s lawyers to negotiate the termination of his contract.
