Barcelona, Messi open new contract talks
Barcelona and Lionel Messi have opened new contract talks.
According to Sport, negotiations have now formally kicked off between the two parties.
The Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta, and the player’s father and representative, Jorge Messi, have held various conversations in recent days.

The final offer, both financial and in terms of the sports project, will be subject, however, to the result of the exhaustive audit that the club is undergoing.
In these first rounds of negotiations between Laporta and Jorge Messi, the foundations of the agreement are being laid.
Details are yet to be tabled, but progress is being made around a lifetime deal that would extend beyond Messi’s playing days.
