Bayern count losses after Coman, Mazraoui injury

Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui have been sidelined with thigh injuries, with the German club on Wednesday confirming both will miss the club’s “upcoming matches”.

Both players suffered the injuries in Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League win at Manchester United, in which Coman scored the only goal.

“Bayern will be without Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui in their upcoming matches,” the German champions said in a statement.

Bayern have two Bundesliga matches remaining before the winter break, hosting third-placed Stuttgart on Sunday, followed by a trip to Wolfsburg next Wednesday.

Bayern, who eliminated United from Europe, qualified for the Champions League last 16 as Group A winners.

Thomas Tuchel’s men sit four points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen but have a game in hand.
