Belmadi: Zidane deserves greater recognition for Real Madrid Euro glory

Algeria coach, Djamel Belmadi, has said Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, deserves greater recognition inside the game.

Belmadi says Zidane’s achievement of winning three consecutive Champions League crowns should be making a heavier impact across football.

He explained, “I admire Guardiola, Klopp, Zidane … We don’t realize that Zidane is a great coach. If Mourinho or Guardiola win the Champions three times in a row, we call him a genius. Zidane is a genius, even if he hasn’t revolutionised the game.

“Instead, we are talking about the philosophy of some coaches who have not won anything. Wait a minute, what do we want? Are we judged by victory or by the best philosophy?

“People, what they hope is that you win.”
