Boastful Burnley boss: We might lack talent – but not belief!

Burnley manager, Sean Dyche, has said his team made up for a lack of talent with ample belief in their quality.

While the Clarets may not be the most attacking or enjoyable team to watch in the division, they have regularly defied the odds to stay up.

Their latest success is a mightily impressive away win at champions Liverpool.

The 1-0 win ended Liverpool’s 68 game unbeaten run at home and was achieved through a second half Ashley Barnes penalty.

Dyche told Sky Sports in his post-match interview: “We don’t lack belief.

“We lack a bit of talent sometimes but not belief.

“When we get it right as a structure and a unit, doing the basics, it keeps you in a game and then you have to find a way to win it.

“There’s a big season in front of us but this puts us in a better position

“The shape and diligence was excellent, the will and demand, the work rate of the two forwards as well. You have to defend from the whole side.”
