Bosso challenges Obasi to provide evidence on bribery allegation

Former Flying Eagles coach, Issa Ladan Bosso, has challenged ex-Super Eagles player Chinedu Obasi, to name the official who demanded bribe from him instead of giving baseless allegations.

Formerly known as Ogbuke, the former Super Eagles winger claimed in a recent interview that he was asked to give a bribe if he wanted to make the Nigeria squad to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“Two days before the list came out, I was asked to pay some money if I want to be in the team,” Obasi disclosed during an Instagram live chat.

“I said I’m not comfortable doing that. They said I should know the system, and I should act like I’m a Nigerian. I said it’s not about being a Nigerian but doing the right thing.

“I’ve kept it close to my chest since 2014 because you’d have unnecessary enemies when you talk.”

In his reaction, Ladan Bosso, who is the President of the Coaches Union in Nigeria revealed to brila.net that he had spoken with the Obasi to avoid making baseless accusations, warning that whoever makes such claims without evidence in future should be ready for a legal tussle.

It will be recalled that Obasi was at the 2003 U17 FIFA World Cup in Finland under the leadership of Austin Eguavoen who was assisted by Ladan Bosso.
