Brazil versus Eagles (October 13) Ebuehi to replace injured Omeruo
Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has recalled back to form and fit again Benfica of Portugal full back Tyroone Ebuehi to replace injured CD Leganes of Spain central defender Kenneth Omeruo.
The Eagles Manager had earlier disclosed to SPORTINGLIFE that he had to draft Omeruo to replace injured Leon Balogun. The Coach had no choice than to call for a reinforcement at the rear of the Eagles when Omeruo became injured after giving a very good account of himself pairing another Granada Eagles invitee Chidozie Awaziem in the heart of Leganes defence in the club’s 1-0 loss to highly rated Granada in the Spanish Liga last Saturday.
Its been long when Benfica defender Tyroone Ebuehi last played for the Super Eagle due to a long time injury which he has just recovered from. Same injury cost hum a place in Rohr’s Eagles squad that won bronze in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which Nigeria won the bronze medal in Egypt.
Although Ebuehi was not involved in his club’s 3-1 loss away to Zenit in the Portuguese League because his club believed he was still recovering from the long time injury but Rohr who has been monitoring his players abroad believed Ebuehi has hit required fitness level to play against Brazil.
“(Kenneth) Omeruo is injured and has been replaced by Tyroone (Ebuehi), Rohr told SPORTINGLIFE from his base in France.
