Breaking: No Olympic ticket for U-23 Eagles after South Africa draw

Nigeria’s U-23 National Team nicknamed Olympic Eagles have crashed out of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after a goalless draw against South Africa in a Group B encounter at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo on Friday.

With the number of foreign professionals invfited, the Olympic Eagles failed in their quest to pick one of the Olympic tickets for next year’s summer games in Tokyo, Japan.

Nigeria finished with four points from three matches while South Africa ended the group with five points to join Cote d’Ivoire to advance to the last four of the competition.  The team scored three goals and conceded two.

The Young Elephants defeated Zambia by a lone goal in the other group B game to top with six points.
