Arsenal stumbled in their attempts to keep the pressure on in the race for the top four as they dropped points at Brighton.  Nigerian International Alex Iwobi tasted 45 minutes of sterling action for the Gunners in the Boxing day encounter.

Iwobi was brought in to replace Ozil just after the first half of the two goal thriller. Leon was up and doing from the start to finish of the encounter for Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

While Balogun Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring, Jurgen Locadia’s equaliser make do of Balogun’s long rage pass for the home side goal at the Amex.

With the result Arsenal are forced to settle for a point on the road against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls were the better side in the evening and deserved their point, although they didn’t quite have the quality when it mattered the most to push for the victory.

Unai Emery’s men had a bright start to the contest and took the lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, they lost their way and were never able to gain the upper hand. Jurgen Locadia capitalised on a defensive mistake from Stephan Lichtsteiner before rounding Bernd Leno to equalise.

There were chances for the home side in the second half, but Locadia, Davy Propper and Solly March were unable to find the net. Both sides take a share of the spoils.
