Brighton get injury boost for West Brom trip

Brighton & Hove Albion wing-back Tariq Lamptey will return for Saturday’s Premier League trip to second-bottom West Bromwich Albion after being out for more than two months with a hamstring problem, manager Graham Potter said.

Lamptey sustained the injury in a Premier League match against Fulham on 16 December.

“Lamptey has trained again today, he’s had no problems and he’s had a good week,” Potter said. “He won’t start but there’s a chance for him to be in the group.”

Brighton will however be without centre-back Adam Webster until the end of March due to an ankle injury he picked up against Burnley earlier this month.

“Webster is more towards after the international break,” Potter said. “We were optimistic initially but you always have to wait with ligament injuries and he’ll be a few more weeks than we thought.”

Brighton are 16th with 26 points after 25 games, four points above the relegation zone.
