Calenda brands reports of Osimhen changing agents ‘fake news’
Reports emerged that Napoli star Victor Osimhen was considering changing agents, but his representative Roberto Calenda publicly ruled out these claims.
The 24-year-old has not had an easy season following the team’s incredible Scudetto success last season. He has struggled to find a good relationship with new coach Rudi Garcia and off-pitch issues have also threatened to distract him.
Osimhen was at the centre of controversy recently after Napoli uploaded two videos to their official TikTok page mocking him – the first comparing him to a coconut and the second poking fun at his penalty miss against Bologna.
DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando reported on Tuesday morning that Osimhen was ‘seriously thinking’ about changing agents from Calenda to a French representative.
Calenda publicly responded to this, writing: “I was ‘seriously thinking’ of replying to this person but then I read that he has been writing fake news about Osimhen for months… Once upon a time there was news!”
Osimhen still hasn’t put pen to paper on a new contract with Napoli and his current deal expires in June 2024, so rumours are now starting to circulate regarding a departure in the coming months.
