CBN vows to expand golf tourney

The 2018 Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Golf Cup was rounded off yesterday at IBB International Golf and Country Club with Ugochukwu Chigborogu emerging champion.

Chigborogu playing handicap 26 polled 91 gross over 65 nett and his handicap has been cut to 23.5 for his efforts.

The elated Champion told Sportinglife.ng after being declared overall winner among 200 golfers that participated in the one day tournament that the victory will inspire him to achieve more success.

“This victory will not only motivate me but will inspire me to even do greater things, to win greater trophies and greater tours. I also expect to even move beyond the shores of Nigeria”, the 2018 CBN Golf Club disclosed.

The representative of the CBN Governor, Isaac Okorafor who is the Director of Corporate Communication CBN said that the CBN boss has promised to ensure a better competition come 2019. “We want to assure everybody that next year’s edition will be so wonderful”, he assured.

Other winners were: J. Barber who polled 98 gross over 69 nett playing handicap 29 to emerge Veteran Ladies winner. M. Edozie had a 7.3 meters to win Nearest to the pin prize while E. Mark shot 2.1m to emerge Nearest to the pin men’s winner. G. Ihonvbere shot 228m ro win the longest drive ladies prize while longest drive men
was won by E. Chioba.
