Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has provided update on why the proposed move of Nigerian-born, Tammy Abraham to Premier League side Cardiff City  ahead of their English Premier League clash with the Bluebirds on Saturday.

Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has cleared the air on why the proposed move of Nigerian-born, Tammy Abraham to Premier League side Cardiff City failed ahead of their English Premier League clash with the Bluebirds on Saturday.

The Italian  told newsmen on Friday that the deal must have failed due to Abraham’s decision to move to Aston Villa at the last minute.

”I don’t know what to say. Tammy until two days wanted to stay here. Until the last day there was an offer from Aston Villa and he decided suddenly to go there, ” said Sarri.

Cardiff are still blaming the Stamford Bridge side over Abraham’s decision to head for Villa before the transfer window closed, after they had showed interest in signing him on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old who was on target for the England Under-21 team in their win against Latvia on Tuesday, is in line to make his debut for Villa when they face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday in the Championship.
