Disappointed Omeruo happy with Madrid win

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo could not hide his joy following their lone goal victory against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey at the Estadio Burtaque despite crashing out.

In a post match interview, Omeruo said he was happy with the victory, but at the same time disappointed with the outcome which failed to take Leganes to the quarter final.

” Am actually proud of myself and my team mates for tonight victory against Real Madrid.. unfortunately it wasn’t enough to take us to the next round, But what a game.. #vamosleganes”

The Nigeria international who is due in Nigeria in March for the last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles has become an integral member of the Spanish team since joining on loan from Chelsea last summer.

Leganes hosted the European champions and defeated them 1-0 courtesy goal from Martin Braithwaith in the 30th minutes of the game. They lost the first leg 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
