Dr Adenuga Table Tennis Championship: Ogun State SSG, other top dignitaries to grace final

Prominent dignitaries in Ogun State have confirmed their readiness to grace the final of the Dr Adelaja Adenuga Table Tennis championship.

Youths from Ijebu Igbo and other neighbouring towns and communities will converge at the Oru Town Hall, Oru, Ogun State on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th December 2021 for the timely and much awaited event.

The elimination matches will hold on the first day while the final matches will be played on the second day.

According to the organisers of the championship, Secretary to the Ogun State Government Hon. Tokunbo Talabi, who was invited as the Distinguished Special Guest of Honour will lead other dignitaries to the end of the year event.

Other important personalities expected include His Excellency, Prince Segun Adesegun, former Deputy Governor of Ogun State as Special Guest of Honour; Hon. Engr. Joseph Adegbesan, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly as Guest of Honour; Hon. Bolaji O. Odusanya, Hon Chairman, Ijebu North Local Government area as the Guest of Honour; His Royal Highness, Oba Abdul Razaq Olufemi Adebanjo, Oloru of Oru as the Royal Father of the Day and the veteran actor, Dele Odule as the Special Guest Artist Appearance.

Dr. Adenuga, the financier of the grassroots community sports championship, stated that watching and playing sports provide ways to escape the stress of our daily lives, adding that coming together as a community at the end of the year, is in the right direction to promote community peace, mutual understanding, and cultural indifferences.

‘Today sport emerges as an important component of Socio-economic development of a country. The active participation in sports improves community health and productivity, reduces medical expenses, imbibes discipline in character, generates great leaders, and enhances social cohesion,’’ Dr. Adenuga said.
