Eagles cancel Tuesday training, to workout in gym
Fans who were expecting to catch a glimpse of Super Eagles players in training this evening at the
Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo have been left disappointed following the cancellation by head coach Gernot Rohr.
22 players have reported to the team’s Ibom Hotel in Uyo and were expected to have their first official training on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifiers against Libya.
Unfortunately the session had to be cancelled at the last minute, with no reason given by the team handlers who asked the players to regroup at the gym, instead of retiring to their respective rooms.
“Today’s training session now holds at the gym and premises of Ibom Hotel. We regret whatever
inconveniences this change may have caused the media and our fans who had planned to watch the open
session at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium,” read the tweet.
