Eagles midfielder Ogu counts blessings after hitting 176k followers

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is counting his blessings after hitting 176,000 followers on twitter Friday, submitting that he has indeed progressed.

The former Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel ace went back memory lane to compare life when he was on the streets of Lagos and wondered how many people knew him then.

“Hi everyone, woke up and I saw 176k people are following me. Bruh I won’t lie ,when I was on the street of Surulere,I wouldn’t have believed people will follow me on Twitter or show me love on the street of Lagos whenever they see me. I’m much Grateful to you all I swear ❤️” he enthused

He however lampooned unnamed fellows who constituted themselves into a clog in the wheel of progress in the course of his career for what he dubbed selfish reasons and pointed out that his hunger to succeed in his career at all cost played an important role to what has become of him today.

“I’m as hungry as ever to succeed in this life and career God has chosen for me. Market is opened; I’m working so hard to get back on the pitch. When all is done, I shall update you all,” he added

Ogu who has made 26 appearances since joining the senior national team in 2013, pitched tent with Saudi Arabian side Al-Adalah this time last year but the ravaging effect of coronavirus cut short the deal with the former Acadamica ace only able to make seven league appearances for the club.

While counting his blessings Ogu no doubt will be hoping that a new opening comes knocking to offer him an opportunity to return to the pitch
