Eagles storm Russia for World Cup

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have finally arrived in Russia with five days to their FIFA World Cup opener against Croatia.

Sportinglife.ng understands that the team who spent nine days in Austria putting finishing touches to preparations landed at the Mirealnye  Vody Airport aboard a chartered plane at about 11pm local time. They should have arrived an hour earlier if not for their flight that was delayed.

After the normal airport formalities, the team was driven to their Hotel Sanatorium Istochnik in Essentuki where they would be based throughout the tournament. At Essentuki, they were received by the city officials and locals who welcomed them with singing and dancing.

The team will train tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4pm at the Essentuki Arena.
