Eagles to have access to wives, girlfriends – Rohr

With 20 days to the kick of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has assured that there will be no barrier between his players and their wives or girlfriends during the tournament.

Rohr has decided to allow the players stick to their partners instead of patronizing women of easy virtues as some sportsmen do.

“Yes, the players can have their wives and family comes to visit them at the World Cup. Each player will have a room to himself so the family can come on days when we are not preparing for games or on matchdays.
“However, I won’t allow them to have Russian girls, no, no, no. Only captain Mikel who has a Russian partner can come with her,” said the coach at a media parley on Friday in Uyo.
But while the players have been allowed some level of freedom, the 64-year-old tactician emphasised that discipline would remain the team’s watchword on and off the pitch.
They will open their account against Croatia on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium, before taking on Iceland on June 22 and Argentina on June 26.
