Elders to reconcile Pinnick, Giwa

After four hours of intensive deliberations and brainstorming by elders of Nigerian football comprising former chairmen and general secretaries of the Nigeria Football Federation and former national teams coaches, it was decided that elder statesmen in the game should wade into the  crisis to reconcile the two feuding parties led by Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa.

The meeting convened by the Sports Minister Solomon Dalung in his office was to broker peace in order to avert a FIFA ban.

The minister read out the resolutions of the meeting to journalists:

“I decided to invite the elders in the football family to help us look into the issues, intervene and possibly suggest the way forward (for football in this country).

” After brainstorming through discussions of the issues, reviewing it which relates to peace and unity in the football family resolved that as elders they are going to go into the crisis of Nigerian Football Federation and reconcile the different parties so as to allow Nigerian football to grow.

“This is the decision reached at the meeting after brainstorming and discussing the issue. I sincerely thank the elders for wading into this matter”, Dalung disclosed.
