Enyimba 4-0 Kano Pillars: We should’ve scored more – Finidi

Enyimba Coach, George Finidi, has expressed delight over his side’s 4-0 hammering of Kano Pillars but insists that they could have scored more during the Match-Day 24 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), SportingLife can report.

The People’s Elephant needed a positive result to bounce back from the defeat against Rivers United last weekend and they gave their fans enough to celebrate at the Aba Township Stadium with a brace from Victor Mbaoma while Emeka Obioma and Godwin Emmanuel grabbed a goal each.

Speaking to SportingLife after the encounter, he said: ‘My boys did well and I must commend them for the effort today after a disappointing outing against Rivers United. It’s a good day for us.’

Interestingly, Enyimba had 15 shots on goal, scoring just four and Finidi puts it down to the brilliance of Kano Pillars Goalkeeper.

‘It was a game where we created lots of chances but could only score 4 which we will take any day any time. We could’ve scored more but their keeper did a good job in stopping them.’

The defeat was Kano Pillars’ heaviest to their bitter rivals Enyimba in the NPFL since they got promoted in 2001.

Enyimba are currently eighth on the NPFL log with 35 points while Kano Pillars have been dragged deep into the relegation zone as they sit 19th with only 23 points.
