EPL: Liverpool will end season a trophy winner, says Gakpo

Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo has said that his club will end the season with a trophy.

He however appreciates the support of captain Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk is also Gakpo’s captain with Holland.

He told Voetbalzone: “It is of course easy that we both speak Dutch. Of course there are also other teammates who helped me, but with Virgil I can speak Dutch. He helped me with all things off the field and on the field too of course.

“I am grateful to him for that.”

Gakpo also said: “I expect that we (Liverpool) will have won some trophies at the end of the season. And then the European Championship. We’re going to play that to win, of course.”

“Yes, certainly. You have to think big and dream big. Of course we’re going to the tournament to win it, and I think everyone else has that feeling too.”
