Etebo benched as Stoke City loses to end unbeaten run

Nigeria international, Oghenekaro Etebo failed to make the Match day squad for Stoke City who went down 2-0 away to Birmingham in the English Championship on Wednesday at Saint Andrews.

The Nigerian returned to the team last Saturday after serving the mandatory three match following a red card received in November.

It would be the second straight match that Etebo would be benched by manager Gary Rowett.

The loss to Birmingham, a one time Carling Cup Champions ended Stoke’s 5-match unbeaten run this season.

Birmingham’s goals were scored by Jacques Maghoma and Omar Bogle in the 43rd and 87th minutes.

Etebo now has his sights on making the team against Bolton Wanderers this weekend.

The Nigeria international joined Stoke before the season commenced after spending three seasonsl with Feirense in Portugal and Las Palmas where he was on loan.
