Everton 2-0 Watford: I saw a different Iwobi in the second half—Silva

Everton manager, Marco Silva has hailed Alex Iwobi for stepping up his game in the second half after struggling in the opening period in Tuesday’s EFL Cup against Watford which they won 2-0.

The Nigerian was among the players singled out for praises by Silva who must be happy with the result that has sent the Toffees into the last eight.

‘Theo had a big impact again, the change we made [Walcott for Kean] had a big impact on our second half.
”Theo was always a really important player for me, he knows that. He is in a good moment and will help us in the next games as well.

”The way we built our attacks [after half-time] was faster and the gaps were clearer. We found the spaces more easily”. The Portuguese gaffer added :  ”Alex Iwobi was different in the second half, he found the spaces
and created more between the lines and was more decisive,” Silva told the club’s website.

He was unlucky not to have scored when his shot came off the woodwork and away with Gomes stranded.

It was Iwobi’s 11th appearance of the season in all competitions.
