Everton ready to break bank for Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has long been expected to end up in Italy this winter after his departure from MLS, but Everton may make a late bid for the Swede.

Area Napoli suggest that the struggling Merseyside club may look to the forward to inspire them away from the relegation mire.

The outlet say that the Toffees would make Ibrahimovic their best paid player on around £3 million per season, just ahead of Bernard, who is currently the highest earner at Goodison Park.

Now, Everton have arisen as a possible destination. It is believed Everton are willing to make Ibrahimovic their highest-paid player, more than Bernard – offering Ibrahimovic a contract until the end of the season with a view of extending that until 2021.

Not only would Ibrahimovic be an excellent signing given that he is still one of the best centre-forwards in the game despite his age, and that he would be available on a free, but also because Everton are crying out for a striker.

The Toffees are yet to replace Romelu Lukaku. Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean have been bought for figures close to £30million, but neither have done the trick. Ibrahimovic would be a stunning signing for many reasons.
