Ex-Eagles midfielder urges NFF to start re-building process for Eaglets

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to commence a rebuilding exercise for the national under-17 team, the Golden Eaglets after crashing out of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Brazil.

Golden Eaglets apologise

Adepoju stated this on the backdrop of the team’s failure to progress to the quarter-final of the competition after the Manu Garba-led team lost 3-1 to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

The headmaster as he was fondly regarded during his playing days, stated that the football body must commence early preparation in order for Nigeria to regain their past glory.

“The round leather game is all about winning and losing but it is sad that we are losing; a lot can be done to reverse the trend,” Adepoju stated.
