F/EAGLES: I’ am confident of world cup ticket in Niamey – Aigbogun

Chief Coach of the national U -20 team, Paul Aigbogun has stated that the sudden cancellation of the proposed international friendly matches against Saudi Araba, Egypt and Tunisia have adversely affected his preparations towards the CAF U-20 Nations Cup Championship in Niger Republic as he wanted to use the friendlies correct some of the lapses in the team.

Speaking to Sportinglife.ng at the goal project training pitch, said playing international friendly games before any competition always help to assist the technical crew to prepare the team physically and mentally and also put the team in competitive mood.

Aigbogun further Stated that despite the setback, his wards are responding to training positively and the team spirit is high.

“You should know that the boys want to market themselves and get good offers abroad and some who are playing overseas now want to move to a better club. This championship is important to everybody and to me especially because I want to win it and qualify for world cup. I have no fear because I know my boys are battle ready,” said Aigbogun.

The team will depart Nigeria on Wednesday next week for the 15 – day championship in Niamey.
