Former Super Falcons Captain wins League Goal of the Week Award

Desire Oparanozie’s long range shot from the centre circle againt Paris FC has fetched her the Women’s League Goal of the Week award in France.

Oparanozie who plays for Guingamp in the French women’s premier division scored in the 92nd-minute after Louise Fleury had put the home team ahead.

Oparanozie got 48 percent of the total votes cast for the award to emerge the winner.

She beat Olympique Marseille’s Saki Kumagai who bagged 35 percent, Bordeaux’s Khadija Shaw had 13 percent while Marina Makanza of FC Fleury 91 had three percent of the votes cast.

The former Super Falcons captain should be in contention for a starting shirt against third-placed Montpellier in their next league game on Saturday.
