Fury blasts heavyweight rival Wilder for missing an important event

Tyson Fury has reignited the war of words between himself and Deontay Wilder by seizing on the opportunity to ridicule his upcoming opponent after he pulled out of media commitments through illness.

The heavyweight pair are set to clash once again in their rematch on February 22 in Las Vegas, and both fighters were due to appear in Phoenix, Arizona in the US to promote the fight on Sunday.

But after Wilder was a no show at the TV event, Fury pounced on the chance to lay into him by posting a rant on Instagram, calling him a ‘b****’ and a ‘p***y’ and accusing him of being afraid to share the same space as him.

‘This is Tyson Fury, AKA the Gypsy King,’ Fury said. ‘This is a message to Deontay Wilder, the Bronze Bomber, the big p***y.

‘He’s not turned up to any of the media events today, blagging he’s got the flu, because he doesn’t wanna be in the same room as me because I’ll take him to school.’

Fury accused Wilder’s promotional team of hiding the star and said the 34-year-old knew he would be ‘humiliated’ if the pair faced off on camera.
‘His management team are afraid to put Deontay Wilder in the same room as Tyson Fury – facts. Keep him away Al [Haymon], keep him away Shelly [Finkel], keep him away his trainers, keep him away his wife.

‘Deontay, what a little b**** you’ve become. You can’t even come and see me and be face-to-face with me on camera because you’d be humiliated and took to school.’

Things became heated between the two in the build up to their first fight in Los Angeles, which ended in a draw after Fury climbed off the canvas after a massive right hand by Wilder that appeared to render him unconscious.

But to the amazement of all those in the arena, Fury sprung to his feet to beat the count after out-boxing his opponent for most of the bout. However, the judges could not agree and gave scorecards of 115-111 to Wilder, 114-112 to Fury and 113-113.
When the rematch was announced, Wilder vowed to ensure Fury stayed on the canvas this time, promising to ‘finish it’.

‘I promise my fans that there won’t be any controversy with this one. I’m going to finish it,’ Wilder said.

‘There will be no more unanswered questions. I will finish what I started and, this time, Tyson Fury will not be getting up off that canvas so quickly. I’ve proven myself time and time again and I will do it again.’

Fury himself assured fans that he would take Wilder’s WBC belt and become world champion, telling Wilder he would ‘get what’s coming to him’.
