Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun believes he is in the right physical condition for the Africa Cup of Nations slated for June 21 to July 19 in Egypt.

Balogun was among the early arrivals at the Super Eagles training camp in Asaba yesterday.

The former FSV Mainz of Germany defender admitted that the just-concluded season was so intense and challenging for him.

But he thanked the instructor, Kessler, for putting him through a rigorous fitness exercise.

“ I want to thank Maximilian Kessler for getting me in the right physical condition for the upcoming tournament! It’s been some intense and challenging sessions, but worth every single second. And as they say – no pain no gain 😏💪🏽,” Balogun tweeted.

Balogun endured a difficult season at the Seagulls, Albion as he struggled for regular playing time at the club making eight league appearances so far with a goal to his name.

He spent close to a month on the sidelines due to injury early this year but he later resumed training with the rest of the squad.
