Heartland name Kennedy Boboye new head coach

Owerri-based Nigeria Premier Football League campaigner, Heartland have named Kennedy Boboye as their new head coach.

According to the release, Boboye will take over coaching duties from Christian Obi, who was relieved courtesy of the Naze Millionaire’s poor start to the campaign.

Heartland are yet to record a win after nine outings in the NPFL this season.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with two-time NPFL winning coach Kennedy Boboye,” the statement on the club’s X handle read in part.

“He takes charge of the club’s technical team with immediate effect on a 1-year deal with an option of a renewal.”

Heartland currently occupies the 20th position on the log with six points.

Intrestingly, Boboye is regarded as one of the highly rated coaches in the NPFL.

At the last count, the former international claimed the NPFL title with Plateau United and Akwa United respectively.
