How Flying Eagles fared against Mali

 

Orewale Oremade: Conceded his first goal of the tournament scored by Mamadou Traore and saved a penalty. 6/10.

Valentine Ozornwafor:  Another solid performance from the centre back. 6/10

 

Igor Ogbu: Despite having a good understanding with Ozornwafor , Ogbu failed to hold his own against the Malian attackers. 5/10

Ikouwem Utin: He was lively and helped to marshal his defence. He converted his penalty. 7/10

Mike Zaruma: Made some good moves from the left wing. 6/10

Jamil Muhammad: Hardworking in the midfield and provided the assist that led to Nigeria’s equaliser. He also scored his spot kick. 7/10

Aliyu Ibrahim:  Made the Malian defenders be on their toes with his inspiring football. 6/10

Aniekeme Okon:  Missed a scoring opportunity. 5/10

Adamu Alhassan:  Tried his best but not good enough and ended up picking a yellow card. 5/10

Paschal Durugbor:  Displayed too much energy for the duration on the pitch. 6/10

Ibrahim Aboubakar: Came up against a well drilled backline and was left with much to do. 6/10

Yahaya Nazifi: Didn’t have the best of outings as he was well shackled by the Malian defense. Tried a few headers which failed to come off before coming off for Paschal Onyekachi in the second half. 6.5/10

Pascal Onyekachi: Made headlines for getting the equalizer before being replaced. 6 10

Adeshina Gata:  Would have scored the winning goal for Nigeria in the dying minutes but denied by the Mali keeper.  Also had a good game.  7/10

Maxwell Effiom:  Came on in the second half and made impressive contributions. Also scored his penalty. 7/10
