I didn’t have a chance to renew my deal at PSG – Silva on saddest moment

Thiago Silva left PSG at the end of last season and signed for Chelsea on a free in order to keep his brilliant career going.

According to the Brazilian, the French side should have at least considered offering him an option to extend his contract in Ligue 1. Following the 2-0 victory against Madrid in the Champions League, the CB spoke about this situation to ‘TNT Sports’, along with other declarations he made to ‘RMC Sport’.

“Independent of age and of people, everyone has dreams. I prefer to dream big than dream small,” Silva continued. “I don’t think dreams age, it’s just that, depending on what you do, it gets more difficult. People thought Thiago was finished, but age on paper doesn’t match up with the quality that you offer on the pitch.

“The saddest thing is that I didn’t have a single chance to renew with PSG, not even a conversation, but now that’s in the past. The sadness I felt has gone and now I’m thinking about my future, about Chelsea and what I need to do here”, he added.

What is certainly true is that Thiago Silva is in great form at the moment with Chelsea. At 36 years-of-age he aspires to be champion of the Champions League in a campaign in which Tuchel, who started the season managing PSG, has featured the CB heavily in his starting eleven. It’s not by coincidence that the Brazilian has already accumulated 28 appearances as a starter.
