I have enjoyed working with Rohr-Mikel

Captain of the Nigeria senior national team, Mikel Obi has revealed that he has enjoyed working with head coach Gernot Rohr since coming on board two years ago.

At a media parley on Friday in Uyo, Mikel said Rohr’s work ethics have distinguished him from the other coaches that have handled the senior team.

“He is differnt. Apart from being a father figure, he has brought a new work ethic, discipline and positive energy that has made him different from other coaches. He is a true professional and l am proud to work with him,” said the Eagles captain who is looking forward to his second World Cup.

The coach who was appointed at a time Nigeria failed to qualify for the Africa Nations Cup, succeeded in qualifying the Eagles for the World Cup with ease in a group that seemed difficult.

Following Nigeria’s qualification, the Nigeria Football Federation decided to reward the coach with a new two-year contract and also paid his salaries upfront for three months. This was to make the coach work without distractions.
