‘I miss Napoli a lot because I had established a great relationship with the team’, says Spalletti

Italy coach Luciano Spalletti has confessed that he’s missing his former club Napoli.

After leading the club to the Scudetto last season, Spalletti stepped down before eventually taking the Italy job.

Spalletti said: “I miss Napoli a lot because I had established a great relationship with the team. This incredible relations football had been created, and now I miss it a little.

“I feel good about the scudetto and I’m holding onto it tightly, even if everything burns out quickly in football. In Naples they made me feel like no person deserves to feel.”

On the Naples honorary citizenship received last week, he added: “Beautiful stuff. When they told me that the last athlete to receive it was (Diego) Maradona I wavered and I was also a little nervous.”
