As the Flying Eagles depart for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic, the head coach of the team Paul Aigbogun has promised to deliver both the FIFA World Cup ticket and AFCON Trophy at the continental junior soccer fiesta.
Aigbogun who spoke to Sportinglife.ng at the airport shortly before departure, said qualifying for FIFA U-20 World Cup is the most important task as over 150 millions of Nigerians would not take excuses for an answer .
“We have been in camp for over one month and we have prepared well for this competition. The NFF have given us what we need and we have no reason to disappoint. We also need Nigerians to pray for us to have injury free competition. I have equally picked the best players for this task and with God on our side my boys will make Nigerians proud.
“Continuing, I have equally studied the match tapes of my opponents and I know their strong points and weak points. Though they are not push over but I know we will come top in the group,: said Aigbogun
The National U – 20 Team will play Burundi, South Africa and the host Niger Republic in Group A as the 8-Nation Championship commence on February 2nd-17th.
