Ingmar De Vos, sole candidate for the presidency of ASOIF

Ingmar De Vos from Belgium is the only candidate for the presidency of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF). This matter will be dealt with at the 48th General Assembly in Birmingham on 9 April.

Belgian Ingmar De Vos, Council member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), will stand for election as the next ASOIF President.

The third term of office of the current President, Francesco Ricci Bitti, ends on 31 December 2024. The election of the President will take place at the 48th General Assembly on 9 April in Birmingham.

The President is elected by secret ballot for a four-year term coinciding with the year of the Summer Olympic Games and takes office on 1 January of the following year.

De Vos was the only candidate to be nominated by the official deadline of 25 March. According to the ASOIF Statutes, full members can nominate a member of the Executive Body for the role of ASOIF President.

De Vos, FEI President since 2014, ASOIF Council member since 2019, and IOC member since 2017, is active in numerous sports organisations, including SportAccord, as a member of the Executive Committee member, WADA as a representative on the Executive Committee and the Belgian Olympic Committee, as a member of the Board of Directors. He is also a UN International Gender Champion.

he 48th General Assembly will be held in conjunction with the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from 7 to 11 April.
